<p>Join Park Rangers and members of the Polar Polers Nordic Ski Club for a fun cross-country ski adventure. All skill levels welcome! Experienced volunteers available to provide guidance for beginners. Drop by anytime between 1:00pm-5:00pm! Winter equipment (both skis and snowshoes) available to borrow from the Rainy Lake Visitor Center for free while supplies last. Final loans for equipment end at 3pm. No registration needed—meet at the Black Bay Trailhead. After skiing, gather around a campfire and explore the night sky through telescopes at Black Bay Beaver Pond.</p>

Skiing and Winter Fun with the Polar Polers

Voyageurs National Park spans 218,000 acres of lakes, forests, and streams in northern Minnesota. Established in 1975, the park is named after the French-Canadian Voyageurs who once navigated these abundant waters. Voyageurs National Park provides exceptional opportunities for recreation and exploration amidst landscapes rich in natural beauty, history, and cultural heritage.

Voyageurs is open 24-hours a day year-round, although activities and services are limited after visitor center hours. Please note that early spring and late fall may present hazards on the lake with thin ice; use caution.
