Geminids Meteor Shower (Stargazing at Fort Hunt)

Description

Fort Hunt Park (Area A)

Slow-moving and first observed less than two hundred years ago (1862), the Geminids are one of the most reliable annual meteor showers. Showers peak every year during the wee hours of the morning on December 14.
Join park rangers at Fort Hunt Park on March 14, June 20, August 16 and December 14 for ranger talks, constellation tours and telescope viewing! Bring a camp chair or blanket and a red flashlight if you have one. A telescope will be provided to share. Each event may be cancelled due to inclement weather. Call (202) 439-7325 with questions.
